How to Fix This in Roundcube Webmail
Option 1: Switch to HTML Composition (Best Fix)
HTML mode uses a clean vertical line indentation instead of raw
> or >> characters when replying or forwarding.- Log into your cPanel Webmail.
- Click Settings in the left-hand navigation sidebar.
- Select Preferences, then click on Composing Messages.
- Find the option Compose HTML messages.
- Change the dropdown menu from "never" to always.
- Click Save.
Option 2: Turn Off Text Indentation Entirely
If you must use Plain Text mode but want to remove the
> symbols completely:- Go to Settings > Preferences > Composing Messages.
- Look for the setting titled Indent reply text with (or block quotation settings).
- Clear out the default character text box (delete the
>) or set it to a blank space. - Click Save.
